Memory

Every time we work on MEMORY, EMOTION, CELEBRATION, my mother’s voice comes into my head, recounting the reaping ginger time. I wish I could speak to hear about it for details now that I know Jamaica better and rural life better. The ginger must be reaped and prepared over night and so many people come to help and a party ensues. Her eyes always lit up when she talked about it.

These girls memories are just as evocative for me. And each day is a celebration of sorts this week, ice cream day thanks to the suggestion from a beautiful artist to sweeten the mood.

Ok! Ramblings over. I had no sleep thanks to the street parties and fighting outside my window. Hope you will join us on the 15th! https://www.eventbrite.com/…/memory-emotion-celebration…

Please RSVP on event bright and not with me. https://www.eventbrite.com/…/memory-emotion-celebration…
